Question

Anyone know what gear (acoustic guitars, etc.) Mike Ness used on 'Cheating at Solitaire' and 'Under the Influences'? Nothing is mentioned in the inserts that I recall.

    Thx.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">It won't probably differ much from the gear that he uses in Social D (which has been covered in this forum a billion times) but I was under the impression that he used his Taylor Acoustic guitar (sunburst with his name inlaid in pearloid down the neck) a lot around the time of his solo records...

Well, im not sure of during the recordings, but when playing live, Mike played his #1 & #2 Les Pauls almost the entire time. You can really hear that sound in most of the solo songs undernieth most of the accoustic guitars.

He used his usual Les Paul Deluxes but I'm not sure about amps. I know at Woodstock '99 he used a Marshall head instead of his usual Fenders. But it's possible that was rented gear.

I know it's probably been discussed a million times before, but anyone know what kind of distortion pedal mike is using? I don't think he's got any delay/chorus/reverb crap going on.. but I think I remember using him a certain pedal. And is he using the pedal for solos only, or does he use it to generally enhance his sound?

ps: sorry for the bad english

    danke

I'm just asking cause I'd always been a guitar-lead-amp purist.. but lately I feel like trying out some stuff and explore the wonderful world of stompboxes. No delay, phaser or flanger or synthetic crap like that though.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">Mike uses an overdrive pedal, not distortion. He currently uses a Boss OD-3 for his solos but prior to 2003 he was using OD-1. Both will have the same effect.
